Our Farm and vineyard are located
near the hotel and a local farmer running it provides our hotel with all our
guests' desires in fresh vegetables, cheeses, fruits eggs and wine. All is
home made as in the old times strictly ecologically and with no chemicals at
all. Our vineyard enjoys a southern exposure on the slopes to the lake and
consists of 4500 Merlot plants. These grapes are Bordeauxlese and are
personally cared for by Aristide Quadri master vignard and farmer at heart.
The wine produced, of a beautiful purple color, is served to our guests at
very moderate prices. The wine can also be acquired and stored for up to 5
years . It can easily be preserved as our soil is of high acidic content.
The taste of this wine is similar to the bordeaux. The cellar is located on
the way to the village of Pazzallo where one can visit the
Museum of the famous Swiss Sculptor
Mario Bernasconi and artist wife Irma
. The ceilings of our cellar built in 1842 are classical and a visit to our
cellar and the Museum can be combined and is reccomended.
Remember on
your next visit to small but attractive Switzerland, land of mountains,
glaciers and palm trees that it is also a land of great artists. A current
famous one is the architect Botta that made Lugano the center of his
activities in the field of modern architecture. Many come to see his
churches on Mount Tamaro and in the valley Maggia. Aristide Quadri the
hotelier will welcome you on your next visit as a farmer, wine grower, cook,
accountant, mechanic, politician, psychologist, and at heart an artist,
sculptor
and
painter. At the Parkhotel Villa Nizza you can admire his collection of art
works and old rural objects.
